Sfeer sal opgevoer word by die Klein Karoo Nasionale kunstefees vanaf 30 Maart tot 6 April, daagliks om 16h00 in die ‘Baanbreek’ venue, ‘n saal vir nuwe eksperimentele werk.

Sfeer will have its debut at the Klein Karoo National Arts Festival, 2013!

30 March to 6 April at 16h00 everyday.

Athena Mazarakis is an award-winning South African choreographer and performer working in the areas of Physical Theatre and Contemporary dance both nationally and internationally.As a performer she has been awarded a Gauteng MEC award for Most Outstanding Female dancer (2005) and a Kanna Award, for Most Prestigious Achievement in Dance Theatre (2007).  She was also awarded a Silver Standard Bank ovation award for her choreographic work elev(i)ate2.  Athena is currently the Education officer of The Forgotten Angle Theatre Collaborative

Arnaud van Vliet is a musician, composer and music producer. He has been working as a professional musician since 1992. Arnaud has been a member of a number of influential South African bands including Blue Chameleon (1992-1994), Battery 9 (1995-1999) Diesel Whores (2002-2008)  and currently performs with acclaimed and award- winning singer, songwriter Arno Carstens (2009 to present). He has performed extensively throughout South Africa at all major music festivals and venues.

Naomi van Niekerk left for France in 2008 where she obtained a Diplôme d’Etat des Métiers des Arts de la Marionnette 2008- 2011 at the world renowned puppetry school École Nationale Supérieure des Arts de la Marionnette.  During her stay she performed in theater festivals in Belgium, Poland as well as the prestigious Avignon festival where she showcased her solo-work Epitaphe in 2011. Her work (fu)GA! premiered at The World Puppetry Festival in Charleville-Mezieres, France in 2011. She most recently worked on the costumes for Kentridge’s Refuse the Hour in 2012 and now lives in Johannesburg where she continues to work as a visual and performing artist.
